Latitudes Art Fair : Layo Bright, Elizabet Cervino, Muofhe Manavhela, Cinthia Sifa Mulanga

We are pleased to announce our participation at the Latitudes Art Fair. The fair will run from 22 May - 26 May 2024. Layo Bright (born 1991 in Lagos, NG) received her LL.B from Babcock University, Ogun State, NG and MFA in Fine Art from the Parsons School of Design, New York, NY, US. The artist's first solo museum exhibition Dawn and Dusk will be on view at The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, Ridgefield, CT, US since April 2024. Bright’s works have been also featured in solo and duo exhibitions at Monique Meloche Gallery, Chicago, IL, US; Flux Factory, Long Island City, NY, US, and AWCA, Lagos, NG. The artist participated at numerous group exhibitions, including at Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts, Omaha, NE, US; Halsey McKay Gallery, New York, NY, US; Museum of Glass, Tacoma, WA, US; PM/AM Gallery, London, UK; Johnson Lowe Gallery, Atlanta, GA, US; Lubeznik Center for the Arts, IN, US; Sean Kelly Gallery, New York, NY, US; Bode, Berlin, DE; Welancora Gallery, Brooklyn, NY, US; Anthony Gallery, IL, US, among others. Bright completed an art residency at Museum of Glas, Tacoma, WA, US; UrbanGlass, Brooklyn, NY, US; Tyler Glass Program, Philadelphia, PA, US; and has been selected for Ron Desmett Award Residency 2024, Pittsburgh Glass Center, Pittsburgh, PA, US. The artist is the recipient of numerous honors and awards including the Ron Desmett Award (2023), UrbanGlass Winter Scholarship Award (2021, 2020); and the Beyoncé Formation Finalist Scholarship (2017). Layo Bright lives and works in New York, NY, US.

 

Elizabet Cerviño (born 1986 in Manzanillo, Cuba) studied at the Real Academia Española, Rome, Italy (2017) and has received recognitions from Brever House, The Rockefeller Brothers Fund (2017); Unlimited, Brooklyn, New York; Cuban Arts Fundation; Finalist of the 1st edition of the International Cuban Art Award; Young Artist of the Year Category, Farber Foundation, Cuba-USA (2015). International Cuban Art Award; Young Artist of the Year Category, Farber Foundation, Cuba-USA (2015); Nominated for the 2nd edition of the Maretti Award, Cuba-Italy (2014); Henry Moore Foundation. She has had solo exhibitions at Chasquidos, Pabellón Cuba, Havana (2019); Galleria Continua, San Gimignano, Italy (2018); La Columnata, Callao, Perú (2017); Galleria Continua, Havana (2017), among others. Her works have been part of collective exhibitions at the National Museum of Fine Arts of Havana; Pérez Art Museum, Miami, USA; Cranbrook Museum, Bloomfiel Hills, Detroit, Michigan, USA; Centro de Desarrollo de las Artes Visuales, Havana; Pabellón Cuba, Havana; Galleria Continua, Havana, Italy, France; Norwegian Embassy in Cuba; Shelley and Donald Rubin Foundation, New York, USA; Odeon Foundation, Bogotá, Colombia; Green Gallery, Dubai; South South, Goodman Gallery, Cape Town, South Africa and others. Elizabet Cerviño lives and works between Havana, Cuba, and Tampa, Florida. 

 

Muofhe Manavhela (born 2000, Limpopo, ZA) is a young self-taught artist. Manavhela’s work has been shown at a solo exhibition at Bubblegum Gallery, Johannesburg, ZA. The artist has participated at multiple group shows at Bode, Berlin, DE; Affinity Art Gallery, Lagos, NG; Eclectica Contemporary, Cape Town, ZA; HOFA Gallery (House of Fine Art), Accra, GH; African Artists Foundation, Lagos, NG; and ADA, Accra, GH, among others. The artist has presented her works with Kalashnikovv Gallery and Bode at Investec Cape Town Art Fair, Cape Town, ZA; with Kalashnikovv Gallery at African Galleries Now, Johannesburg, ZA; and with Bubblegum Club at FNB Art Joburg, Johannesburg, ZA. Muofhe Manavhela lives and works in Johannesburg, ZA. 

 

Cinthia Sifa Mulanga (born 1997 in Democratic Republic of the Congo) trained as an artist at the Artist Proof Studio in Johannesburg. She has participated in a variety of exhibitions which includes her solo exhibition In The Becoming at Goodman Gallery Johannesburg (2022). She has taken part in group exhibitions at international galleries such as Bill Brady Gallery, Miami (2021); exhibition Liminality in infinite spaces curated by Azu Ngwaghugo (2020); The Artroom Gallery (2020), among others. Mulanga has also been recognised for her work by the Normal Sovereign African Art Prize (2023); The British Fashion Council’s New wave Creatives and collaborated with Fashion House Gucci, to reimagine the iconic Diana Tote Bag (2022). Cinthia Sifa Mulanga lives and works in Johannesburg, South Africa where she is supported and advised by Latitudes Online.
